What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?

When people ask me what do I do for a living & I replied to them saying I am SEO Specialist & they get baffeled hearing this term so I further explained them its Search Engine Optimization. Some of them get curious to know what is all about & other don’t bothered to ask me further.

So what exactly does SEO or Search Engine Optimization means? The simplest answer to this question I usually give to people asking me is that

“It’s a process of optimizing any website so as to get it a higher ranking in search engine result page so that people looking for information related to that website can find it easily”

This a kind of general answer about what SEO is about, In reality in SEO process involves many more things which includes analysis, research, strategy, content optimization & other factors that has made Search Engine Optimization as one of fastest growing field in the IT industry.

SEO is the active practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines. The commonality is that it is oriented around the search ecosystem. Except for the light-bulb.
